It seemed so easy for some...
And so hard for others...
To leave Band is one thing we sec 4s and 5 will have to cope with. :)
But im sure... i will not be forgotten.. :)
What i have done these 4 yrs...
All the bad things ( blog... disrespect... emo)
Let them be reminders of my faults and correct me back to the right path.
All the good things ( haha... My juniors... friends... teachers.... :D)
Let them be reminders that i didnt make the wrong choice by choosing band...
I learnt so many new skills... and found out potential in me that wouldnt be revealed if i werent in band...

I will miss the band haha rest assure that. :)
with a 4 years difference... i became a different person.
at the beginning we were all innocent kids, unknowing of all the future ahead...
Now... we changed became stronger... better... more talented...
Once, i tot my time is up when i leave this band...

All of us were anticipating the moment...

The band finally gained something.
I was so happy...
But i also realised that it marks the end of something...

Sometimes i always feel like disappearing from the band forever after pop...
But mostly i feel like enjoying every final moments with this band...
Haha... when i pass out... maybe ppl will forget me... Or rmb me...

The trombone section improved so much >.< not to mention the percussion section...
But i regretted being unable to teach them more or at all...
Haha. i feel better now...
But with tears in my eyes of course :)

Phew...
Long time nvr update liao...
So im going to speed up on this post X , X
Quite a lot happened since my last post though...
Gt the trip to hort park ( dunnoe how spell XD)
Gt Sports day, (its boring...)
Gt assembly program (AHHH... LOGISTICS)
Gt Exchange XD (brrr... damn cold...)
Anyway the top 7 went for a walk supposedly from hort park to vivo city! (I GT SAY TRUTH HOR!!! FROM PARK TO CITY X , X)
Well... we started wrong area... then go wrong turn (blame nick X , X)
Lol... i was pointing correct direction lo... see lah... dun trust geo student...
It was a very very very very very loooooooooooooong walk...
The next day all of us so tired liao, then most of the them came late X , X
haha...
The scenery was really good and anyway we had a learning journey also...

Phew...

Great day today!

taught brian a bit of the basics, he's doing well but there's a lot to learn XD

Practice was ooooooooookkkkkkkkkkkkk

Had sectionals with mr eddy, we practiced more articulations and our sound seems better.

Unfortunately my asthma activated itself >.<

and i have a tough time practicing.... haiz...

Combined was.... o...k... everyone was tired and all.

After band a grp of us and ms caneda went to play pool.

Lolx...

The auntie there was scolding us lo...

We were like... increasing in size (our grp size) every once in a while.

Haha. didnt like it, cant even talk loudly.

Bowling was better at spam john or whatever the place is called.,

Teacher can be bowling or pool instructor liao sia...

Teach us until we omg liaox...

After this we went have dinner then go home...

That is, after a 30 min walk i think? or was an hour... forgot haha.

There's hope at last...
Once, last sat i was so disappointed... so sad that the band actually did rather badly...
however, today was different.
I feel that we are actually able to change.
That is if we work harder and have the right mindset.
We can become better.
The horns had shown me that...
Jin Jun had shown me that...
The third clarinets had shown me that...
With these ppl playing together with us, we sound more musical...
It was like the best overture no. 1 i ever heard.
All the details, all the right tempo and the right feeling.

I just hope everytime would be the same.
Nick and i will make sure it will be the same, along with the sec 3s and 4s of course...

People seldom ask me what is pride,
Cause they already knew the answer.
To me, pride is nothing.
Dun see why people get so crazy over this.
Instead of wasting time on this thing,
I did rather go practice my trombone playing, even though i used a different and harder style of tonguing, its difficult to change now.
With syf now, after syf i will have to slowly adapt to the better and easier style.
Reading people's blogs, i realised there are many things happening around me.
Good things, bad things.
Now, pride is one thing, fate is another.
But to me both are equally nothing.
Well, maybe fate has a higher rank.
It could be fate that i was chosen into band, even though it was my second choice.
It could be fate that i only talked more to the band during my leader days.
It could be fate that Elisa actually stayed on the section. (She will make a great leader, she just need to learn)
It could be fate that I exploded and abandoned my job for a long time. (took me a while to get back to my senses)
Everything could be fate, even the silver for syf.
But
I think all these consequences were caused by the actions we do everyday.
Even if i werent chosen into band, i would quit ncc air and transfer into it anyway.
Talking more to the band? i made a right choice in communicating more, this way we have a stronger bond.
Elisa will be a brilliant person, it will take a while before she learns everything, i am willing to take a risk that she will be able to command respect in the band.
I cracked, ok? but i came back to my senses, teachers and seniors and juniors actually are there, im the bad egg that time. Self consious all that. But i came back.
These are all fate?
Dun make me laugh.
To make choices means u had chosen ur fate.
Good or bad choices determine your future.
I decide my. Lets hope the others will. XD

Yesterday i stayed overnight in school in order to watch philwinds practice XD
I tell you all...
It was really stunning, any ordinary band member would have their jaws dropping.
The philwinds are a really brilliant bunch of people.
This was the first time they had seen the piece and they actually side readed it... (dun noe how spell)
Amazing!
Thats wat i want to become. but i nid to concentrate on my o lvls this yr.
However, it doesnt mean i can slacken in my practice XD
We, the sec 4s had a really long talk at night.
We talked about some of the main probs of the band now.
This was my opinion.
In order to do more work, we need to waste less time.
During free time we should be studying scores, looking at articulations, tempos and the notes rather than talking unnecessary.
The same goes for drills, like i had said to the sec 2s today, if you are able to do things right once, why not do it right everytime or at least most of the time.
This allows the teachers, the sec 4s and even alumnis who come back to be able to teach and give our knowledge to our juniors.
This is my opinion.
In order to do it, the sec 4s had finally worked together XD
last yr we still had problems now and then, like one sec 4 would feel left out or another would not bother.
This time, we really have the same mindset at last.
We will work hard for the last few months we have...

During the starting of the year or rather, april when i get my band major post, i wasnt so open or like to talk...
Rather i isolated myself from others.

There are much better things in life.
My sections (trombone and percussion) are improving and will only continue to improve if i help them. that i plan to do!
I will try to conduct better too! More expressions! etc etc!
The chorale and jubiloso i only used my right hand for expression even though no one saw! haha. but ok i tried... but not hard enough :(
But i wont go all emo.
Band is so much fun after i opened up and talk more, with people within the section and out of the section! ITS SO DAMN AWESOME! XD
I wish this never ends though...
Next year is my final year.

The 34th NCO camp is over!

It was so fun, met new friends, learn new stuff, etc etc etc...

First time i seen 14 trombones in a band sia...

Im getting all crazy about exams and am studying like countless hours for it.

I concluded that i am studying so horrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrriblly hard becuz of band!

On the other hand, im improving in colors for trombone, the second movement (the fast part) is quite familiarized in my head!

Overall, im studying hard nowadays after school, but once in a while i will be in school practicing my trombone. I cant just focus on one area, must be all rounded. studies and Band are equally important!

NCO CAMP ROCKS!!!
I met so many on my first day!
Wen jie, Wei Jie, Esther, Deanna etc...
OMG!
I realise that trombone section only 4 guys of 15 ppl...
Wow...
I had to work around 3 times as hard as usual...
There were so many running notes... So much melody (Awesome...hehehe...)
The marches were so catchy, i could memorize them in no time.
But i don't wanna.
The other trombonists were all so strong... so good... awesome!
I was almost late on the first day just becuz i missed a stop >.< (must rmb count better...) XP
I became 3rd trombone cause we chose from right to left.
1st right, 2nd middle, 3rd left.
I was at the left end so 3rd i am!
The sectionals were awesome.
Guess what... the masterclass teacher actually said i am more of a 1st trombone type... wow... fancy that!
But i guess i will stick with 2nd and 3rd for now.
Im still recuperating from the illness i had for the past 2 weeks (walao eh)...

I'm back in the council (what a surprise) only due to specific reasons...
I became one of the leaders of band...(That was a very big surprise... i was getting used to being a treasurer...)

So many things happened...
I must prepare for the future...

I happened to be interested in conducting for a while now...
but some things or situations had happened...
making me drop conducting...

everytime i picked up a pen... i would pretend it is a baton...
now?
the pen i held in my hands had no effect...
it appears heaven is against me from conducting...
my hands are stripped from the ability to go with the flow now...
i cant conduct... neither can i use the baton...
i did something wrong today which made me regret...

Apparently, i have never told anyone about my past band life before.
Now im a bit jealous of everyone who have a senior...
in my primary school band, there was not a single trombone senior.
About 7 of the newly recruited, including me were appointed there...
Soon... 1 by 1... they quitted... leaving me alone...
Fond memories? i doubt it... more like bitter memories...
Never in my life have i a trombone senior... not including teachers... or alumnis...
in the end... that year there was only 5 primary 6 members...
Pathetic... isnt it? i came to beatty band seeking a senior...
i thought i found one in Lionel... but... soon i learnt the truth...
here again... i am the only one senior in the trombone section...
No one else... again...
the juniors apparently have no idea how fortunate they are...
not like others who never had a senior in their life...
Pathetic... thats the only thing i can say...

Ok...
i'm back.
didn't i say i will continue talking abt the camp?

On day 1, we did ice breakers...
which are damn fun.
But the best part was instead of the losers do forfeit.
The winners do the forfeit instead.
HAHA.
Well, then we went to Chinatown.
We went to a temple and learnt abt the culture.
Then we went to the chinatown heritage centre.
We learnt abt the life in the past years.
We went to have lunch in a mosque.
using our hands to eat rice, chicken and mutton curry.
It was AWESOME!
AND DELICIOUS!
Oh well.
the next day...
we just played some games and prepare for our skit.
The third day...
we prepared our performances.
Then the campfire began.
all of us performed.
and soon...
the campfire turned into a disco party.
haha...
it was fun though.
The last day came...
the mayor was coming and we had to perform our skit for him...
welll, at first we were nervous...
then we got carried away...
our group's skit was so funny...
the mayor laughed till he cried...
HAHA...
anyway...
after that he approved of our projects.
and we had a lunch and then it was time to say goodbye...

we will see each other in our projects...
